Viewmont Residence

Studio MD was approached by a successful entrepreneur to renovate his 5000sf residence located in West Hollywood Hills. Due to the new Baseline Hillside Ordinance a feasibility study was necessary before the architectural and interior design work began. Being an entertainment house for a bachelor an emphasis was put on the public spaces, the bold finishes and the furniture selection.
The existing building lacked a proper connection between the 4 stories and to the rear yard at the bottom so several options were explored to open up the space and bring more light whilst directing the views to the LA basin.
The re-designed pool area features an infinity pool connected to a spa and a sunbathing / sitting area that takes advantage of the different elevations and views.
